How to Use: Gua Sha

Gua Sha Tool at Home Ritual 

Make sure your Gua Sha tool are freshly washed before beginning your self care ritual. Prep the skin thoroughly and following with your Hydrating Mist. While it’s still damp apply your choice of Facial Oil or Serum.  Pat and press into your skin gently. Always keep your tool as flat as possible to your body. 

Pressure: Light to medium pressure 

Speed: Slow and with intention

Neck & Shoulder Release

Place the flat side of the board flush against the base of the back of your neck, and stroke it upward along your spine to your hairline. Then stroke upward on either side of your spine, from the top of each shoulder to the hairline. Position the flat side of the board on the top of the shoulder, and stroke it upward to where your jaw meets your ear. Repeat five times or more on each side. 

 Front Neck Release:

Choose one side of your chest, placing your right hand beneath your collar bone. Using the long edge of the tool, sweep until you meet your jaw bone. Repeat five times or more on each side. Place the curved notch of the board where your collarbones meet, and drag it up the midline of the throat up to (but not over) your chin. Repeat five times or more on each side. 

The Face:

Position the notch of the board so it hugs the center point of your chin, and glide it along the edge of your jaw toward each ear. Repeat 5 times or more on each side. Run the flat side of the board under one cheekbone, from the corner of your mouth toward your ear. Repeat 5 times or more on each side. 

 The Eye:

For this portion, use light pressure since the skin is so delicate and sensitive. Using one of the notches of your tool, sweep under the eye, and then angle upward once you pass the outer edge of your of your eye, moving toward your temple. Gently wiggle the tool for a massage. Repeat 5 times or more on each side. 

The Brow:

Using the notched edge of your tool. Sweep outward, curving upward to your temple once you reach the edge of your brow. Gently wiggle the tool for a massage. Repeat 5 times or more on each side. 

The Forehead:

Place the long edge of the tool against your fingers and then roll up over your brown bone, continue up into the hairline. Gently wiggle the tool for a massage. Repeat 5 times or more on each side. 

The Third Eye:

Place a finger between your eyebrows. Meet the bottom corner of the tool to your fingers and pull up to your hairline. Gently wiggle the tool  for a massage. Repeat 5 times or more. 

Maintenance: CLEAN YOUR GUA SHA TOOL with warm soapy water.
